ORGANIZATION OF RESOURCES IN THE LIBRARIES

Information resources are processed and organized using the Library of Congress Classification Scheme the Anglo American Cataloguing Rules and Library of Congress Cutter table, which are internationally accepted standards, to facilitate easy and quick access to information. The Library is an active member of The Kenya Libraries and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) which has enabled library users to access and use e-resources published by authoritative publishers.

LIBRARY SYSTEM

Chuka University Library System currently comprises of the following Libraries:

  1. Chuka University Main Library
  2. Faculty of Business Library
  3. Faculty of Science Library
  4. Faculty of Law Library
  5. Embu Campus Library
  6. Igembe Campus Library

MEMBERSHIP

Library Membership is open to: -

  1. Chuka University Undergraduate Students
  2. Chuka University Postgraduate Students
  3. Chuka University Academic Staff. 
  4. Chuka University Administrative Staff, and
  5. External Users (As stipulated in the Rules and Regulations)

LIBRARY STAFF

Chuka University Library System has a cohort of competent hardworking staff who are devoted to deliver world class quality information products and services to Library users based on the universities core values (customer Value and focus, integrity, passion for excellence, innovation, professionalism, teamwork, timeliness and devotion to duty).

Monday to Friday:  8.00 am – 10.00 p.m. 
Saturdays: 8.00 am – 10 pm
Sundays: 8.00 am – 10 pm
